Grapefruit is a hybrid between the sweet orange and an Indonesian pomelo. The essential oil is produced by cold-pressing the rind to produce an oil that is an aromatic replica of the actual fruit.

North American Indians used spikenard for bruises, wounds, swellings, and inflammations. This upright herbaceous perennial grows to a height reaching up to 60 cm high.
The medicinal part of spikenard is the rhizome (root).
